“The martyr's field is the place of detachment from self, that the anthems of eternity may be upraised.” –Abdu’l-Baha
Anthems of Eternity is a video documentation project of first and second-hand stories of acts of heroism in the Bahá'í Faith.
The mission of the project is to record and archive for posterity interview footage of witnesses of Bahá'í martyrdom and acts of heroism from around the world. As Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Bahá'í Faith stated: "It is the shedding of the sacred blood of the martyrs in Persia which, in this shining era, this resplendent, this gem-studded Bahá'í age, shall change the face of the earth into high heaven and, as revealed in the Tablets, raise up the tabernacle of the oneness of mankind in the very heart of the world, reveal to men's eyes the reality of the unity of the human race, establish the Most Great Peace, make of this lower realm a mirror for the Abhá Paradise, and establish beyond any doubt before all the peoples of the world the truth of the verse: `...the day when the Earth shall be changed into another Earth.'" These stories are not only moving tributes to the power of faith, but also historic accounts of the impetus which is destined to give rise to the oneness of mankind. While the survivors of this historic sacrifice are still with us, we want to document their stories first-hand, in their own words.
